Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of Event Kabaadi (“the platform”, “we”, “us”). By creating an account or using the platform, you accept these Terms. If you don’t accept them, don’t use the platform.

1. The marketplace

Event Kabaadi is a peer-to-peer marketplace for the Indian event-equipment industry. We connect sellers (rental houses, production companies, individuals) with buyers (production companies, freelancers, end customers). We are not a party to any transaction between a buyer and a seller. We do not take custody of goods, we do not escrow funds (except for the platform’s own subscription / boost fees paid to us directly), and we do not arbitrate disputes between users.

What we do provide is the infrastructure: listings, identity verification, search, chat, and a billing channel for the platform’s own services.

2. Account & identity

  • You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
  • Your phone number is your login. Don’t share your one-time passwords with anyone, including someone claiming to be from Event Kabaadi.
  • Listings and chat are gated on verified PAN-based identity. If you don’t complete PAN verification you can browse the marketplace but you can’t list or message.
  • Verified business sellers (those who’ve completed GSTIN verification) get a “Verified Business” badge and access to brand-name display.
  • You must give accurate information. We’ll close accounts that we discover to be impersonating someone else, supplying false KYC details, or operating multiple accounts to evade a ban.

3. Listings

  • You may only list items you have the legal right to sell.
  • Listings must be accurate — honest condition grading, honest photos, honest pricing. A listing that misrepresents the item may be removed and the seller suspended.
  • Prohibited items: anything illegal under Indian law, including firearms, controlled substances, counterfeit goods, items obtained through theft, and any item whose sale violates GST or customs regulations.
  • The first listing from each new seller is reviewed by our team before going live. Subsequent listings go live immediately.
  • We may remove or hide a listing at our sole discretion when we have reason to believe it violates these Terms or applicable law. We’ll explain the reason via in-app notice when we do.

4. Buying & selling

  • Once a buyer and seller connect via chat, all logistics (price negotiation, payment for the item, pickup or delivery, inspection, returns) happen between the two parties. The platform does not facilitate the payment for the goods themselves.
  • We strongly recommend in-person inspection before payment.
  • Use the platform’s chat for all communication during a deal — it creates an audit trail we can refer to if a dispute arises. Off-platform redirects (UPI requests in the first message, requests to move to WhatsApp before viewing the item, OTP requests of any kind) are red flags. Report them.

5. Paid platform services

  • The platform’s tiers and add-ons (Basic, Premium, Featured) are billed via Razorpay. Prices include 18% GST.
  • Listing windows run from the moment a paid listing is published for the duration of the chosen tier; we don’t pro-rate windows when a listing is removed early.
  • Refunds: we will refund the platform fee if (a) you cancel before a listing goes live, or (b) we remove the listing for reasons attributable to us (a platform bug, a moderation mistake we acknowledge). We do not refund the fee for listings we remove because of a Terms violation.
  • GST-compliant invoices are emailed and available for download from your purchase history.

6. Content you post

You retain ownership of the content you post (listing text, photos, chat messages). By posting it, you grant Event Kabaadi a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display, reproduce and distribute that content for the purpose of operating the platform. The licence ends when you delete the content (subject to reasonable backup retention).

7. Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Harass, threaten, impersonate, or discriminate against any other user.
  • Scrape or systematically copy listings, photos, or user profiles.
  • Manipulate search rankings, listing visibility, or ratings.
  • Use the platform to communicate any content that is illegal under Indian law.

We may suspend or terminate your account, with or without notice, for material breaches.

8. Reporting violations

Every listing and every chat carries a Report option. Reports are reviewed by our trust and safety team. False reports filed in bad faith can themselves be grounds for suspension.

9. Availability

We work hard to keep the platform available but we make no commitment about uptime or downtime. Scheduled maintenance and unscheduled outages happen. We don’t owe you compensation for time the platform was unavailable.

10. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Indian law, Event Kabaadi is not liable for any indirect, consequential, or incidental damages arising out of your use of the platform. Our total aggregate liability for any direct claim is capped at the platform fees you have paid us in the preceding twelve months.

Nothing in this section limits any liability that cannot be limited under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 or other applicable Indian law.

11. Governing law & disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute will be resolved exclusively by the courts at Bengaluru, Karnataka.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be announced in the app at least 14 days before they take effect; continued use after the effective date is your acceptance.
